Diego therefore is 3 – 3 inbreed to Robby vom Glockeneck. Not bad, such an origin of working dogs!
I have seen Diego many times in action at our club (G.H.S.V. Schiedam). Characteristic is his super hard and full bite. This is a natural born bite, genetically anchored.
The dog is very social, every one can pet him when he is wearing the sleeve. Children can play with him, he has a calm and stabile character, but he is ready for action when he needs to be. In short, he is a genuine German shepherd.

Richard did not do a breeding survey with Diego, therefore as regards of bone structure, he now is in between Kkl.1 and Kkl.2, but taking his working capacities into consideration, this dog should have Kkl.1.
As it now appears Diego inherits very well, all young dogs (out of a total of 18, coming from 2 nests) owned by sportsmen, they do very well in the training.

Remarkable is that many German shepherds that have the KNPV certificate are off-spring to Robby vom Glockeneck. There are few German shepherds suitable for this KNPV training:
Bart v’t Fuuke, Benzy v Ashley’s Home, Gento v Haus Larwin, Rakker, Rocky Blitsaerd, Maiko v’t Heukske, Rex v Lobster Home, Wesley v Gardefence, Quincy vh Groot Wezenland, Aram v Hardowin.

Recapitulating, afterwards can be established that the use of the DDR dog in the Netherlands was only a temporary matter. Kennel v Blitsaerd had Bryen v Altmärker Land in the breeding station. Later on some breeding dog advertisements were placed in the VDH magazine for Eastern dogs. With this, the integration of Eastern blood into the Dutch breeding came to an end
Only in the past few years the interest in the Eastern dog has returned, especially amongst admirers of these species. People who like the solid, powerful bone structure and dark pigmentation as well as the basic principles of the Eastern breeding. In Germany, more and more breeders return to these DDR lines.
But, a dog of this breeding farm is not anyone’s dog, or a “middle of the road” dog. And we should keep it that way. A limited breeding for a specific target group of admirers.
